Coming from a family of anointed and gifted singers, singing came naturally, like breathing. While in college, Daya was a part of the FAMU Gospel Choir at Florida A&M University and recorded live, as a part of the choir, with Twinkie Clark and the Clark Sisters. She also sang with Hezekiah Walker’s Love Fellowship Church Choir, while on internship in New York for her Business degree. Daya Lorin currently resides in the Atlanta metro area, works in IT as a Program Manager, and is a wife and mother of 5 (4 boys and 1 girl). When Daya is not singing, in her spare time, Daya loves to do interior design and DIY.
Daya has over 20 years’ experience in serving and leading in worship ministry in local churches. She served 12 years as the leader over the worship and music departments of a small church in Florida. She also served as a praise and worship leader and team member at Faith Christian Center Atlanta, Linked Up Church in Powder Springs, GA, and Victory World Church in Norcross, GA, under the leadership of Montell Jordan.
Daya’s most recent musical offering is Heaven, released June 2022! Heaven mixes Word based lyrics, heavy bass, and beautiful, soulful vocal interpretations to create an eclectic, unique, Urban Gospel Soul listening experience that draws people to Christ!
Daya’s featured single from Heaven is Prayers Go Up! Prayers Go Up is HipHop Soul influenced Gospel at its finest with a hard-hitting bass line, soul stirring vocals, and magnetic lyrics that draw the listener in. It is a play on the old saying, “when praises go up, blessings come down” but, focused on the Power of Prayer! With music produced by Grammy Award winner, Courtney “JR” Peebles, who produced songs for Lecrae, Andy Mineo, Kenny Lattimore, NFL Network, Erica Campbell and more, Prayers Go Up is a guaranteed hit!
Daya prays that her music will minister to the body of Christ and strengthen it to grow in relationship with Him. It is also her desire that it will minister to those who don’t know Jesus Christ, displaying to them His love, the joy and peace of knowing God, and drawing them to repentance so that they too, can go to Heaven and be with Jesus for eternity![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
